Early Life

Galileo was born on February 15, 1564 Pisa. He was a scientist, mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, and flautist. He played an important role in the Scientific Revolution. He has been called the “father of modern observational astronomy,  “father of modern physics,” and “the Father of Modern Science”.

His father was Vincenzo Galilei, and he was a musican, and his mother's name was Giula degli Ammannati. Galileo was the first of six children, but some people believe it was seven instead of six. His family wasn't rich, but they did belong to the nobility.

Around the early 1570's, Galileo and his family moved to Florence.
